A New Worlds Cheerleading Venue
So, as I’m sure all of you know, in February we learned that the ESPN Wide World of Sports submitted plans to build a 286,000 square foot building designed specifically for cheerleading and dance. According to Disney sources, there will be enough room for four competition floors, warm up areas, and designated judges areas. With room for more than 8,000 spectators, no one will be stuck waiting in line outside to watch the most popular divisions. It sounds like…. Disney World for cheerleading.
Just for a second, CAN YOU IMAGINE not having to leave the same building to get to different performance areas at Worlds? It sounds amazing. The hp Pavilion *cough* The Milk House *cough* will always have a special place in our hearts, but I’m ready for this monstrosity to make its Worlds debut.
Construction Updates
Construction continues on the new cheerleading venue and it looks absolutely massive. The new venue is expected to open in late 2017, so it looks like Worlds 2018 will be our first event in the new venue. Check out some of the pictures from January 2017 to see the progress.
