Varsity All Star awards various amounts of bids to The Cheerleading Worlds at their competitions. The bid declaration below does not pertain to JAMfest Super Nationals, CHEERSPORT Nationals, or NCA All-Star Nationals.

Bid Declaration for Events with 4 or Fewer Paid Bids

  • Paid bids are always awarded to the teams with the highest percentage of perfection score, in addition to the following parameters:

Paid Bids

Events with 2 PAID bids:

  • At least 1 PAID bid will be awarded in a Senior division (excluding Senior Open and Senior Open Coed).
  • No more than 1 PAID bid will be awarded in the Non-Tumbling divisions.
  • PAID bids will be awarded in different divisions.

Events with 3 PAID bids:

  • At least 1 PAID bid will be awarded in a Senior division (excluding Senior Open and Senior Open Coed).
  • No more than 1 PAID bid will be awarded in the Non-Tumbling divisions.
  • No more than 2 PAID bids will be awarded in a single division.

Events with 4 PAID bids:

  • At least 2 PAID bids will be awarded in different Senior divisions (excluding Senior Open and Senior Open Coed).
  • No more than 1 PAID bid will be awarded in the Non-Tumbling divisions.
  • No more than 2 PAID bids will be awarded in a single division.

At-Large Bids

  • At-Large Bids will be awarded to eligible teams with the highest percent of perfection score.
  • Out of the first 6 AT-LARGE bids awarded, at least 2 of the bids will be awarded in different Senior divisions (excluding Senior Open and Senior Open Coed).
  • Any additional at-large bids will be awarded to eligible teams with the highest percent of perfection score, regardless of division.
  • Regional Offices may opt to include Senior Open and Senior Open Coed divisions in its collection of ‘Senior divisions’ if it is warranted, based on the make-up of the region/event.

Tie Breaker Policy

In the event that there is a tie for a Worlds bid, the following Tie-Breaker policy will apply:

  • The bid will be awarded to the team with the least amount of deductions for Performance 2.
  • If the deductions for Performance 2 are equal or zero, the team with the least amount of deductions for Performance 1 will be awarded the bid.
  • If the deductions for Performance 1 are equal or zero, the bid will be awarded to the team with the highest Performance 2 score in the Overall Impression category.
  • If the Performance 2 Overall Impression category scores remain equal, the bid will be awarded to the team with the highest scoring Performance 1 score in the Overall Impression category.
  • If the Performance 1 Overall Impression category scores remain equal, the tie will be broken by the judges’ choice.
