January 20th, 2021, Varsity announced changes to the 2021 Summit and D2 Summit. Below are the highlights from their recent communication (you can view all of their updated FAQs here).
Due to Varsity’s updates, we are reposting CheerTheory’s list of The Summit and D2 Summit Bids awarded during the 2019-2020 season. Find the bids awarded LAST season below.
To see bids awarded for the 2020-2021 season – click here. To avoid confusion, CheerTheory’s lists for bids will remain separate for the season they were awarded in.
Varsity’s Updated Bid Situation
- All bid recipients to The 2020 Summit and D2 Summit Championships in the Junior and Senior divisions (Paid, At-Large, and Wild Card) are eligible to compete at the 2021 Summit and D2 Summit Championships with a Wild Card bid.
- Teams must compete in the same parent division in which they qualified for, but they will allow flexibility in team sizes.
- There will be no roster replacement or substitution restrictions for the 2021 Summit Championships.
- They will allow the number of athletes allowed to crossover from the 2021 Cheerleading Worlds to The Summit is now 8 athletes per team – they can cross to levels 4, 4.2, & 5.
